Madison Estate Deep Dive

3D Design & Engineering Process
Every Pool of the Month begins life as a detailed 3D architectural rendering. Our design team works directly with the homeowner to map the pool's footprint against the property's unique terrain, view corridors, and HOA requirements. For the Madison Estate, we modeled five different overflow angles to find the exact positioning that would merge the water's edge with the Santa Rosa mountain skyline. This process typically takes 2-3 weeks and involves structural engineering reviews, soil analysis, and county permitting coordination.
Material Selection: Why Pebble Tec & Italian Glass Tile?
The Coachella Valley's extreme heat (120°F+ summers), hard water, and intense UV exposure demand materials that are engineered for survival, not just aesthetics. We selected a midnight blue Pebble Tec finish for the Madison Estate because of its 20+ year lifespan and superior thermal resistance compared to standard plaster. The waterline features Italian glass mosaic tile that reflects the desert sunlight while resisting the calcium scaling that plagues every pool in the valley. Each material is chosen for beauty AND battle-tested desert durability.
Hayward OmniLogic Smart Automation Integration
The Madison Estate features a complete Hayward OmniLogic smart-automation suite controlling the pool's temperature, LED lighting choreography, water features, and variable-speed pump scheduling—all from Mr. Madison's smartphone. The system also includes automated chemical monitoring that adjusts chlorine and pH levels in real-time, preventing the algae blooms that plague desert pools during the peak summer months. This 'set it and forget it' approach is critical for homeowners who split time between their Coachella Valley residence and other locations.
Construction Challenges: Desert Soil & Rock
Building an infinity pool in La Quinta means dealing with caliche (hardpan desert rock) that sits just 18-36 inches below the surface. Our excavation team encountered a significant caliche shelf during the Madison dig that would have added weeks and thousands of dollars for many contractors. True to our 'No Change Orders' promise, we brought in specialized hydraulic breakers, resolved the issue in 48 hours, and kept the project on our 5-Week Build-to-Swim benchmark—at no additional cost to the homeowner.
The 40-Foot Perimeter Overflow System
The signature feature of the Madison Estate is its 40-foot perimeter overflow (infinity edge). Engineering this required precise leveling within 1/16 of an inch across the entire edge, a dedicated surge tank to recapture the overflowing water, and a custom-built stainless steel overflow channel. The result is a seamless visual transition from the pool's surface to the Santa Rosa mountain panorama. This is the kind of feature that separates a Master Pool Builder from a standard contractor—it requires absolute precision in earth work, plumbing, and finish work.
